• Nini K. is a young Georgian
artist/designer who came to fashion design from the art world. Born
and raised in Tbilisi Georgia, she came to the United States in 1990
as an “Exceptional Young Artist” at the invitation of the Santa Fe
College of Art. She then returned to New York in 1991 as an Art
Major at Marymount Manhattan
College and has been living in New York ever since. “Fashion is
the greatest art for me now” says Nini K. “New York is a place where
ideas have no limits, and this amazing city is the source for my
inspiration.” Indeed, to wear Nini K. hats, one needs to be a
cosmopolitan to have a “New York state of mind.” • Nini K. design ideas are always innovative, and the effects are always refreshing. Wearing a Nini K. design is truly a fashion experience, her unique style is quintessential bohemian chic and her creations are sought after by a fashion conscious clientele and a host of celebrities including Bette Midler, Erica Badu, JK, Queen Latifah, Beuoncee, Woody Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Katy Couric , Paula Zaan and others. • Nini K. begun making hats in 1998 and has been selling them both in the United States and abroad. She has a strong following in Republic of Georgia, Tbilisi where the collection is featured in the Nini K. boutique which she opened up few years ago. • The Nini K. collection offers hats and knitted accessories made entirely by hand. Stunning fibers, unusual forms and intricate hand beading make her creations truly unique - each piece a fashion “objet d’art” in its own right. |
